Hello there,

I'm in a position where I can buy these used headphones for 70 bucks. They will be my first true "good" headphones. Yeah... awesome! I usually listen to hardstyle, techno, trance and such, and I really want to try the DT 770 Pro.

Not planning to wear them outdoors, so I just need a desktop amp. I've got a X-Fi Xtreme Music card, AFAIK it's built in DAC and I guess it will do the job, but won't have enough power for the 250 Ohms.

So, what would you do?

- Purchase new 770 Pro 80 Ohm
- Purchase used 770 Pro 250 Ohm + cheap amp (less than 60 dollars)

I'm wondering if Behringer MA400 is a nice option, or would it be a waste of money? If so, I'm listening for options. Oh and remember "I can't" spend more than 60 bucks, otherwise I'd just buy a new 80 Ohm unit and be happy with that lol.

Thanks in advance!

Get the FiiO A3 (E11K) headphone amplifier ($60).
Or buy a Sound Blaster Z sound card (used $60?).

Great price for the DT770 Pro 250-Ohm.
If the ear pads are worn out, it around $35-$40 for the factory replacement (EDT 770 V).
Cheaper ($10?) Made in China knock off ear pads on eBay, might be decent quality, but not as good as factory replacements.

roger, I'm getting the A3 lol.

Cool.
Hopefully you disabled the motherboard's on-board audio, in the BIOS, when you installed the XtremeMusic card.
