hi looking for some cheap closed portable phones for my little brother, he's gonna be a little rough with them, and isn't really into the head-fi thing YET.
he loves my es7's but decided for a 1st set that is going to be abused a little at school needs to be a bit cheaper.

so looking for something without the really thick cords, reasonably comfortable and closed that isnt too expensive <100 if possible while still sounding decent, he's into rock and metal. currently he uses my ep630's and has no complaints cause he's just not that picky.

was looking at akg 518dj's, but i cant find them all that cheap anywhere.
any other suggestions for good budget cans?

getem of ebay locally imho their very good and durable. cable is detatchable and can be replaced

PX200 as well bright phones detailed but bass can be not as impactful, folds up very portable 68 grams.

JBL reference 410. They fold, you get a nice little pouch, he bas is amazing and they're a fancy version of the AKG K27i, but for nearly half the price.

Either the JBL Reference 410s or 510s, or the AKG K414Ps. Whichever you can find for cheaper. Give the PX200s a miss. <gag>

Be a good brother, up your budget and get an ES7 for him. There's really nothing below its price that's worth getting for a portable can.
