hi, guys,

I need your some advice on choosing a pair of cheep closed cans. my budget is around 50, 70 at most.

i wanna use them to block the noise of the equipment in the lab. so i only need a cheap pair. and the isolation and comfort is most important to me.

the cans i am looking at are:

dt235; shure 240; akg k81dj

any idea on these? Or any other suggestions?

Thanks a lot.

Check out the For Sale Forum. You might get some Shure SRH440 or Audio-Technica ATH-M50 with that budget.

Speaking of really cheap, I have a pair of Sennheiser HD202, I think it sounds good for it's price.

Good choices. There is also the V6 and the CAL! (Creative Aurvana Live!). The CAL! is $55 at Costco.

The K81 isn't the most comfortable headphone.

I wouldn't get the CAL! for isolation. The K81Dj works very well but is quite uncomfortable for many. The JVC HA-M750 is a good compromise.

FWIR, it's VERY comfortable. Not the most isolation though.

How bout HD212? FWIR, they've got a handfull of good bass, overall a great 'phone for $60 msrp. im sure you could find them for <$50.

another option are ATH-ES7's. Great sound, more portable than some. They are at the top of your budget at $75 @buy.com I dont have these, but tried them out when i ended up getting the ATH-M50's instead, great phone too!

I would not pick the ES7 for comfort or isolation. Even fully modded for comfort I can wear them for 2-2.5 hours max. Isolation is on par with the D1001/CAL!. Maybe a little more.

I agree, I also have a pair of HD202's that I got for $18 when they were on sale at Newegg, they aren't anywhere near as comfortable as my ATH-AD700's, but they sound great for the price.
