This can either be obvious or hard to predict.

I've changed both the ear pads and the inner foams on my 10 year old K240DF.  I've read that the older inner foam was glued to the ear-cup, so I carefully removed it and all of its residues from the driver's housing (that white cage right under the foam).  Then placed the new foam and placed the new ear pad.  The sound significantly turned bright from about 3000Hz up.

The replaceable parts are new and original.

I wasn't sure the initial 'warmth' (compared to sound I'm getting now) was right, since I have another, much newer K240DF which sounds brighter.  I don't have it at hand right now, but when I do I'll compare the two.

Don't know if that's normal, I'm afraid I've done something wrong.  Thought I should ask here ...

Thanks for reading, cheers
