Recently I upgraded my motherboard's drivers including the audio ones and since then my USB Audio DAC's device is first on the list of playback devices, followed by the 2 on-board audio devices (analog and digital).

For some reason this annoys me, I want the DAC to be last on the list.

I tried disabling and re-enabling the device, uninstalling it an reinstalling it and every time it comes back being first on the list.
Does anybody know how I can change that?

Thanks

Right click on the volume icon(speaker at the bottom right) and select Playback Devices. Select the device that you want and set it as default.

You misunderstood my question.
I know how to make it default so that I can use it and I even have a software for conveniently selecting which device I want to use at any moment.

what I would like to change is the order of of the items on the playback devices list.
I'm aware of the fact that the order doesn't really matter but for some reason I want it the other way.

I doubt this can be changed. Maybe it can be changed in the registry but I'm not really sure where to look for in there.
