Currently I have an "asus dgx", connected to a "Project Polaris" connected headphones beyerdinamic dt 990 600ohm, my use is usually to watch videos and play. For now I have never activated the surround sound of the sound card.

I'm thinking about changing the dgx for another dac and I do not know if it's worth the change and if I notice it, I'm looking at the following: (I listen to other recommendations)

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi HD (I can buy for 50 €)
modi 2
modi 2 uber
audioquest dragonfly
Onkyo DAC-HA300 (€ 150 approx)
they are examples that I have seen, and I listen to other alternatives.

Hifimediy optical DAC, $59 + shipping

Plug it into the Xonar DGX's optical port.

Did you disable the motherboard's on-board audio, in the BIOS?
Have you tried the Unified Xonar Drivers.

unixonar drivers if I have them installed, what I do not remember if I disabled the motherboard bios, why is it important to deactivate the sound of the board? If I do not have drivers installed the sound of the board?

It may not be that big a deal disabling the on-board audio, in the BIOS.
