I was wondering how does the chaintech av 710 sound in 5.1 playback as opposed to onboard sound? to Audigy 2? to SB Live 5.1/7.1?

Do I have to have it in high Sample Rate to have it sound good? thx

As far as I know, if you use the digital output it should be comparable to the A2 and better then the onboard or SBLive. But if your using the analogue outputs, only the ALT-output has a decent dac, so I believe the A2 would be better for analogue. The A2 also has DTS support...etc and supposedly has Cirrus Logic "24bit/96Khz" (I think) dacs on all the analogue channels.
