go to Linn Records and check out Bach Cello Suites by Richard Tunnicliffe.  If you can play high res files it is worth the money as it is probably the most impressive and stunning recording i own regardless of genre.

The Goat Rodeo Sessions are outstanding. It's Yo-Yo Ma with another cellist, a fiddler, and a banjo. Very interesting stuff!

Also anything by Rasputina, if you're interested in Cellos with a bit of a popular music bent. Particularly off their albums Frustration Plantation or Sister Kinderhook

I just picked this up.

Also, if anyone is interested, this is an odd one out of my collection:

Black Angels is an experimental composition, and it's interesting to say the least, probably unlike any quartet piece I've ever heard before.  George Crumb, the composer, meant for the violin to be the devil's music and the cello to be the voice of God.  For those of you brave enough, check it out.

With $$$ set aside for tubes and tweaks, will see if one of my libraries has it...thanks, sphinxvc.

Silent One, I finally got this in the mail today.  It took 2 weeks to get here and when it finally did the jewel case was pretty beat up, but the DVD was in perfect condition.

Anyway, this is an amazing recording--any other DAD music you recommend?

Thanks for sharing!

Man, I've been so broke over tweaks and upgrades, music purchases have slowed dramatically. When I find something, I share it here with y'all. One thing that made me mad about this DAD from Starker is I lack speakers.

And playing it made me wanna hear that way!

Tina Guo

She plays both Acoustic & Electric Cello. I have her CD "The Journey" and really enjoy the variety on this disc. And I especially love the track "Forbidden City."
