CDROM/Writer for New PC

I am looking for the best CDROM for ripping, I hear Plextor gets high markes? Any others?

A Plextor Premium CD-RW drive + PlexTools is about as good as CD ripping gets. You can also try a Lite-On CD-RW which are suppost to be good for their price as well.

Plextor and Pioneer. Accept no substitutes.

You can get quality dvd burners so cheap these days that you might as well just do that. Check newegg, they always have a few NEC, Pioneer, Lite-On drivers for 50-60 bucks. Look up a few reviews as well, you'll see those brands, along with Plextor, are usually the top performers.
