Hi,
I'm looking for a CD player for headphones and the next hi-fi system (low cost).
I have seen the following CD players:

pioneer PD-30AE
Tascam cd200
Yamaha cd S303

it will currently be connected to an AKG-702 headphone topping Ampi-Dac with coaxial cable.

Best regards
Riccardo

Hi, out of the three you mention I can suggest the Pioneer.
However, if you could stretch your budget a bit you can look for a Rotel CD 11 tribute, a very nice budget player that could be the corner stone of a nice budget system. But for this you need a headphones amp or to use the output of your integrated amp. It's up to you, according to how you want to configure your system.

Shanling ET3 is very good for peanuts. It's not quite as good as the big heavy Theta unit, but better than most $1k transports.

I you want a decent CD player that does not cost a fortune take a look at the new

SMSL PL200 AK4499EX DAC – CD Player

No flimsy drawers or slot in to malfunction. And a really good high end dac. The others mentioned in the opening post are really the bottom end. Don't expect much from them. I have a Tempo (Shanling) of a similar price that works well but even as a transport it sounds muddy.
