I need a new CD player for my computer room.
I don't need speaker hook-ups, or a tuner, or anything but the ability to play CDs and out-put through RCA jacks.

So far, all I have found in the category of home cd players with a small foot print are the following:

Teac Reference Series 100
Teac Reference Series 300
Teac Reference Series 500
Denon UD-M30
Denon UD-M50

Some of these have features I don't need, but that's ok. As long as they play CDs and sound good. I can get rid of the speakers that some of them come with.

Now for the questions,

Does anyone have any experience with any of these?
If so, what did you think of them?

Also, are there any CD players I failed to add to this list?
All recommendations are welcome.

You may want to look into Musical Fidelity X-Ray. It's a very small footprint and it's a very good player.

Footprint refers to the desk or table top space that the unit occupies. Measuring width x length.

Akar, JMT,

You forgot to tell sapphiremodena whether or not that was a dumb question.

Do any of these small footprint players have coax out?

I believe the X-Ray does. I don't know about the others, but I'd think it's a safe bet that they do too unless they're billed as portable players.

PS. I assume when you say coax out you mean digital coax out, rather than analog coax out.

Kenwood RD-VH7. You can set it one of two ways, and one of them has a really small footprint. Plus, you don't need a headphone amp with it. No coax out, but it does have an optical.
