Ok ..done a search and you guys realy are in deep!!!!

I have a great little marantz CD 52 mk11. Ok it is an old hack...but I hipe to start to learn more about "modding it"

1. I realy understand damping.
2. I have all sorts of feet to try. I have removed fuse(Going to die one day!"!)
3. I made my own "Kimber yellow copy" and wired it in direct.

Now I would like to know more about the board and its components.....
What I will do later is take some pics amd post them. I do not understand these matters so go easy on me please!!!!

Cheers.

I plan on buying a Marantz 67ki in the next wek or two...

Removing the mute transistor will usually add a bit more clarity to the sound.
It may be a noticable improvement, or a barely noticable improvement. Hard to predict.
The down side is you may hear some noises when changing tracks, etc. You may not. That also is hard to predict.

When doing the mod, I recommend you pay careful attention to the transistor position, you may decide to undo the mod by putting the part back in. (probably not, though)

The biggest improvement I have heard modding players is to remove or replace the output coupling caps. It can make a dramatic difference, sometimes.

No comment on the difference tween the two players. I have not heard them both.
