CD/DVD player help - how should I select?

Now that I've joined Team Sennheiser, with a META42 on the way, I'm looking at upgrading my source. Since I don't have a DVD player, I thought that perhaps I should get one since it plays CD/CD-R/MP3 as well.

Question: which aspects of the sound output should I pay close attention to when conparing product? Is it audio D/A converter? (many of them gives 96khz at 24 bit but I'm not sure if it's good enough).

The Philips DVDQ50T looks nice. It has an "audio only" mode which shuts the video circuitry off when in use to minimise any inteference.

Thanks for the info Bruce. SACD is not really available in Australia yet. Well it does, but it costs HEAPS!!
