Dont discount the 12AU7 just yet, ive been trying some with Deyans adapters and its not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, it does seem to vary with what 12AU7 are used, some are not a good fit with the amp but some are surprsingly competative with the 6SN7s I have.
Yup, that's why Im thinking about reducing my footprint. I give Bliss a chance every few weeks but it never managed to hang with the tube amps. It loses on every front even though it's the best SS HP amp Ive heard and it has great synergy with the TC. It loses on technicalities, detail, drive and engagement ... not to mention the secret magical tube sauce

Interesting. For me dynamics of 12AU7 were always flat comaring to any 6SN7 I tried, not to mention those 6SN7 that have banging dynamics and bass or vr135 quads.
They do and I bought them first but they didnt work, the 12AU7s didnt light up at all and obviously no sound.
The 6F8G -> 6SN7 adapters that I bought with them do work with the amp, after some back and forth with Woo where they said how the engineer tests them in a WA5 before sending them out they concluded that for whatever reason they are just not compatible with the amp, so I returned them for a refund and bought Deyans which do work.
