There's been some buzz from the Cayin HA-1A which was very well received by many review sites including Stereophile as a top-notch headphone amplifier.

However Cayin has since released the HA-3:

I can't find any information on them. Has anyone given them a try? I'm especially interested in light of my recent HE-500 purchase, and am looking for alternatives in the <$1000 range for the Lyr (which to be honest, along with the V200, Audio GD SA-31 and perhaps a few of the NFB models, and the Burson Soloist and SL, are the few options out there at this price range suitable for the HE-500).

Thanks!

seems like a different animal.  ha1a is a tube amp and this new thing, ha3 seems like a ss amp with a dac.

Which is interesting...I'd love to see a review of it comparing to the V200, Burson soloist and some of the other well regarded SS amps in that price range.

And honestly I think it's a much better looking amp than anything below $1k

Im guessing noone has heard it. Well I will take one for the team and order it and then post a thread about it.

There is one in chinese that have good reports so I will take the plunge and compare it to my bushmaster mkII dac with the sony z7 as the headphone.

I have three Cayin amps, HA-1A(tube amp), HA-2i(ss amp) and a C5(headphone amp) and all are beautifully made and sound very good so I see no reason why the HA-3 shouldn't sound very good as well. I have been eyeing this amp for a while now and may just take the plunge in a few weeks time.
Grizzlybeast, let us know your impressions of the HA-3 as enquiring minds need to know!
I also have the Bushmaster MKII and like it a lot so the comparison would be interesting. In fact, I am listening to music through the Bushmaster and HA-2i as I type this and it is very pleasant. Cayin has a large range of amps(some quite expensive) and they certainly seem to know what they're doing with tubes as well as solid state circuits. Cheers.
