I can't remember where I originally heard of this game, but I figure I need to spread the word for those of you who might have missed this little gem.

The English translation of the game is called "Cave Story", but it was originally called Doukutsu Monogatari. It is a fast paced 2d shooter with fantastic gameplay and a good story. The graphics are comparable to a really good looking NES game, and the soundtrack is actually pretty good in an old school sort of way. Oh, and did I mention it's free and less than 5MB in size. Even you 56k people out there can grab this one.
A gamepad of some sort is highly recommended, but it's perfectly playable on a keyboard.
So, anybody here heard of this one?
