I am being visited today by Milo. What's unusual about this is that Milo is a full on Mama's boy. He rarely ever visits me unless I grab him.

Nice change.

Tut went to the vet to get is yearly shots and weighed in at17.4 lbs. I put him on a little diet before we went and am sure he dropped weight. :p

Now, it's my turn... :frowning2:
He's a big boy! Judging by your post, the check-up and shots went well.
Don't be shy to post a pic!

Be very careful if someone is suggesting they are going to take you to the vet! Especially any mention of balls, or going on some sort of long vacation to see the youth in Asia. :cold_sweat:

We were gifted quas, so had no idea.. good to see that the sanctuary is making us jump through some hoops, but early stages. Hope it goes well, those tuxedo kitties are so cute, and girls to boot….

Someone mentioned a Korean dish and eating cats the other day when I mentioned Tut, like that was all that interested him about cats.

I did not like that.
No, Sir, not one bit.

I didn't tell him if they were both about to be hit by a speeding car and I could only save one of them, him or Tut, who that would be. :race_car::ambulance:

What are the prevailing opinions here about such bonded pairs? Specifically when they're bonded basically from birth? Any concerns?
We wanted a bonded pair, hoping for less chances of aggressiveness, when we have to go to work.
We got a pair of brothers. While they get do along, they are rough with each other. But if we are out for the day, I don't worry about coming home to cat carnage.

When we got our cats from the humane society, they didn't have any bonded pairs, so we picked two cats that had been kept in the same enclosure for a bit to ensure that we knew they could get along in at least a basic way. And yeah, there is occasional aggression, but nothing I would describe as excessive. Typically it's a case of, we have a 4yo boy cat and a 1yo girl cat, the boy cat just has more play stamina and wants to play rougher than the girl cat does, and that occasionally causes some drama.

We haven't really seen them cuddling together or anything yet (had them only about 8 months so far), but they both hang out with us on the couch peacefully and they both sleep peacefully with us in bed at night. We might try the tuna-on-their-necks trick to get them grooming each other and make them more comfortable with cuddling together. But yeah, generally the only issues we have are when the boy cat sometimes goes a little too far during playtime.

So yeah, if a bonded pair proves difficult to get a hold of, a pair that have at least been enclosed together for a decent while should also be fine. If they were totally incompatible cats, they wouldn't last very long in an enclosure together and the shelter/wherever would separate them.
