After throwing in the towel with the Fostex supplied monstrosity of a case, I'm looking for options and inspiration.

What protective case options have you HP-P1 owners discovered and use?

I'm looking for something that will add protection without adding too much bulk to a HP-P1 & iPod Classic and also allows space and protection for a set of IEMs and replacement tips.

The only thing I've found so far is the Pelican 1050 micro case but I haven't found one in town to try out and may end up buying one online untested which I'm not keen on.

Any suggestions, discoveries, got pictures?

For my iPod Classic > CLAS > JH-3A/16 (plus LOD and Coaxial-mini) is use this: http://www.amazon.com/Nite-Ize-Backbone-Case-Size/dp/B004C548MA.

You'll note it has an extra pouch for the IEMs and two inside soft pockets for LOD and interconnects.  I also put the CLAS and JH-3A "manuals" in the inside side pockets just in case airline security gets curious!

I walked around the markets today and went to nearly every mobile phone case/portable gaming case/GPS vendor within sight and came away nearly empty handed. Nothing fits perfecty, I did find a universal leather case that JUST fits the fostex but it comes with a belt clip that needs removal first. The second thing I bought was a Nintendo DSi hard foam(?) case. This is almost perfect to fit both the fostex and an Ipod, but it isn't exactly a snug fit, just a case that encloses everything for transport.

After some extensive search I think something that fits a Garmin Nuvi 660 will also perfectly fit a fostex as they are very similar dimensions. Something like this: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Garmin-Leather-Carry-Case-Nuvi-650-660-670-680-750-760-/290573906691 you may be able to squeeze it in and cut some holes for charger?

Anyone want to give it a go for $20 and find out??

EDIT: heck I will try it out. Let you know if it fits

Hey all,

This fits like a glove:  http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Garmin-Leather-Carry-Case-Nuvi-650-660-670-680-750-760-/290573906691

Just needs 2 holes surgically cut, one for charge and one for the LED charge light and it's a superb and perfect fit for the Fostex. I can take pics if anyone is interested

Pics plz.

Fostex HP-P1 and 240gb 7 gen iPod, currently with Beyerdynamic DT1350's.

Note the hole cut for charger and hole cut for charge light at the top. Fits perfectly, a very snug fit. The case is tough like cardboard so it protects the HP-P1 very well.

Hi there,
Ihave been reading the threads on here after purchasing myself a pair of DT1350's and today received my HP-P1.  Happy boy.
Where did you get the straps that tie together your ipod and amp? I am keen to get some...

Search eBay for "amp silicon band". They are fiio brand bands for $6 for 2.

EDIT: Here it is: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/280648721579

That's the exact setup I have! Make sure you do the seinnheiser HD25 pads mod to the dt1350, well worth it IMO

That's not actually what I was originally looking for when I created this thread but it looks like a very useful replacement for the piece of rubberized tool box lining I have wrapped around my HP-P1 currently. So much so that I ordered one.

I am still looking for something not too bulky but durable in which to carry the various components of my portable rig for travel. I'm heading to civilization for a few days tomorrow so will now be looking to try out a Pelican 1120 which now looks like a potential candidate. The wildcard right now is the ALO Continental V2 that I bought in the last week.

The Pelican 1120 turns out to be way too small.
I'm hoping to try out a 1150 model which the store didn't have in stock.
Hopefully that will be a  better fit.

The Pelican 1150 tuned out to be a much better fit so I bought one and am testing it out. So far so good.

Mine arrived today. You really weren't kidding about what a tight fit it is.
