Just checked again and it's got them in stock so I went ahead and picked up the spare pads. I'm excited to try the filterless setup to see what the tuning difference.

Mine never came with filters (since I got the 2020 edition straight from CA).

My pads are coming in today. Really looking forward to trying the XL pads because I have such big noggin.

Just received mine Thursday from bloom. Filters were in a black envelope but I couldn’t tell what gauge they were. (there were two) I had some suspicions of channel imbalance and reached out to campfire. No questions asked really they said they would exchange; to either send mine to them or to bloom. Such options wow!

From the manual:
'The lower number value of the acoustic dampener the higher the level of mid and low frequency will be.'

not sure if they have the same telltale grooves as the originals

but if you havent seen this and they do have the grooves
hopefully this is helpful

Pads are here - I must be missing something, but they don't seem to be latching on correctly with the magnets like the stock pads were.

Is the said groove for the pads too?

TL;DR: XL pads are awesome.

edit: I think I got it!

My Lavricables 4:4mm ultimate awg25 cable (that's the 4-core) with 100hr burnin just arrived, and not only does it cure the dire microphonics problem with my Moon cable, but it tames bass bloat, improves detail, and threatens to interrupt work seriously (I'm using with a Sony ZX-507). Strongly recommended. NB Lavricables advises the 8-core (awg28) does incur micophonics, so not as suitable for portable use.

Hello everyone. I Have dap pairing question. Love the Cascades with the cloth pads. I Would like to find a dap on the cooler (brighter?) side for some better synergy. (I hate using EQ) My first and only dap I have purchased is the Ibasso dx160. Anyone Cascade owners have good results with other daps? Was looking at Kern sa700 or Cube.

Instead of a new DAP try a OCC silver cable. It will open up the top end and increase the details. I have the DHC Molecule Elite 4-wire silver Headphone Cable which was a huge upgrade over the Campfire SXC 8.

I have to jump aboard the Cascade + Cloth pads train. I was quite shocked at the change between leather and cloth comfort-wise (keep in mind this is my first-time A/Bing anything pads wise, so YMMV as always).

The sound is.."more open" (that's a bad description, I know) yet still retains what's so special about the Cascades.

Still, in the honeymoon phase with the Cascade as well in general - job well-done @KB and team!

Excuse me, I didn't read the whole thread.
What players do you pair with Cascade, please?
I'm considering buying it.
I own Astell Kern SE 200.
Will it be a good synergy?
Thanks.

Yes, Cascade is a relatively low impedance headphone and works well with any low powered source like a DAP, phone, or portable DAC. I’ve got an SR25 and it sounds great.

That said, it scales very well with more power from a desktop rig, that’s where you'll hear Cascade at its best..

I'm using my Cascade with the WM1A running MrWalkman's DMP-WM1 FE firmware with a balanced DHC Molecule Elite 4-wire OCC silver cable and it's a match made in heaven. Deep bass when present in the recording, no congestion, great details and a wide soundstage.
