In your experience, which are the best can matched with the Cary?

From I understand, The best can should be HD600 or 650. 300SEI has problem driving low impedance headphone from the headphone jack.

The headphone jack is connected right into the transformers exactly the way as same speaker taps do. That's one the reason why this integrated is so popular with headphone entusiasts - no op amps or the such.

For what it's worth, I sold my HD650s (with Zu Mobius) which I thought sucked with this amp - no bottom end and just over all low fidelity.

Also, the K1000s connect right to the speaker posts so, above point is moot.

I have to dispute that as most of the headphones I use with the Cary are low impedance,R10 Grados HP1,3s,RS1s Qualia010s & yes I have the
650s.All sound great out of this amp.

Hey Nik my friend, have you ever considered the AtmaSphere S-30 for the K1000s and the K701s?

I have also the Leben CS-600 that is a PP full tubey amp with GEC-CV1075 output tubes...

And now I bought a SE amp (Cary) with 300B tubes...

Cary's owner manual (latest version - 4):

HEADPHONE OUTPUT: 4-50 ohm compatible 1/4" 3 circuit jack
