Hi guys. Im currently looking for some japanese drum type-esque songs. Something thats very intense, picks up in speed, powerful, musical and immediate. yet dosent SCREAM japanese or oriental.

A song that really spiked my interest was Steve Jablonsky's "The Island"- in particular a short sample from the track "Sector 6" (i have posted a link to this edited sample below):

Does anyone know any soundtracks, tracks, songs, samples, or beats similar to this? Does anyone know anything at all thats similar to this style?

In similar i mean beat, musical genre, impactness, overall feel, fluidity, composition, basically anything that reminds you of this clip.

Mondo Head is officially a Kodo album, but it's actually a sort of world-beat mish-mash (albeit with great talents) put together by Mickey Hart. Much of it does not have the dramatic structure you seem to be after, but it is a blast. Extremely well recorded, and if you ever get a chance to hear it on a good multichannel system (SA-CD 5.1), do not pass up the opportunity.
