As I am impatiently waiting on the arrival of my PS1000s, I'm looking for a new amp. Currently I have a lowly little Creek OBH11 and I think its time for an upgrade. I've narrowed it down to two, either a Woo Audio WA2 or a Musical Fidelity X-Can V8 with the upgraded PSU. But by all means, give any other suggestions.

Mayby SPL Phonitor, but its bit more than your budget, not sure if SPL have pre-amp function, I believe it does In Short: Sound Performance Lab

Not really see anything about pre-amping over there, but I think you will get your info soon from guys who know more about this SPL. Other than that is quite difficult to say if you can complete your purchase with given budget, mean that you want amp+pre amp. Of course there are some amps in your price tag, but matching is something you have to be careful with, imo.
