Hi guys,

I need a little guidance here. I recently bought this BluBridge mini-jack Rx | Miccus Wireless Audio Solutions. I have tried it with using my jaybird mp3 player bluetooth transmitter http://www.amazon.com/JayBird-Bluetooth ... B001DDNO7O coupled with my sansaclip+ housing a 16gb microsd card U2: Still Haven’t Found What They’re Looking for at Apple – Say Hello to Rim | TouchMyApps ... s-main.jpg, connected to the bluridge-mini-jack rx are a pair of etymotic er6's.

So i'm happy with the quality and performance but now i am specifically after a pair of dj like can headphones (budget 200ish) that has a detachable cable. Now its been a long time since i have bought a pair of cans that had a detachable cable and last i recall the connection was proprietary in nature meaning using the bluridge accessories to connect would be difficult. What im looking for is a pair of headphones with a detachable cable that once removed is a simple 3.5mm stereo line (so that i can replace the cable easily without buying into the manufacturers expensive proprietary cable and of course convert it to bluetooth through the receiver+ accessories).

Has anyone got any suggestions?

Cheers,

Bruce

The whole Goldring line have detachable cables.
The Superlux HD668b has a detachable cable as well.

detachable in the non proprietary sense? a simple 3.5mm line that any compatible cable could take its place?

The Shure SRH840 and 440 have detachable cables, as do the Ultrasone PROline models.

What about something smaller and lighter that's maybe more portable. I can't recall the terminology, cans is what we call headphones like the ones you have suggested (complete closure around the ears, dj style), what do we call headphones that are smaller, lighter and perhaps don't close fully around the ear? Do any of these type headphones come with detachable cables? or is it the 'can' style only?

Circumaural = around the ear
Supraaural = on the ear

The latter are obviously more practical for portability.

Sony MDR-CD2000's has a 3.5mm plug where it goes into the headphones but the plug tapers where it goes into the headphones, however some smaller 3.5mm cables should still plug into them
They go for around 200$ used in good shape, ( Best Ipod phones I've ever used, I have a pair BRAND NEW, Possibly one of the last new pairs in existence, $450 and $20 to ship, I don't really want to sell them) If memory serves the CD780's had the same 3.5mm deal, but I dunno how much they go for or where you'd find a pair.

What is your problem? ES10's wires aren't even detachable.
