I'm trying to match up a set of headphones to the output of the controller I'm using to practice and record my guitar with.

Here are the specs for the controllers headphone output.

Load Impedance: 8-600 ohms
Max Output Level: 1.61VRMS @ 100 ohms
SNR (weighted): >91db
THD+N (60 ohms): 0.013%
Frequency Responce: +/- 0,5db 22Hz - 44kHz

The controller receives it's power from the USB port on my MacBook Pro. This set up will be used to keep me from going bonkers when I am working in Afghanistan so using an amp for the headphones isn't something I wish to do.

Which specs are most important to match when choosing headphones.....output voltage and load impedance??, or does any of this matter?

Any suggestions for other things to look out for when choosing a set of cans will be appreciated.

Thanks, Chris

well I picked up an 1/4" stereo adapter from Radio Shack just to see if my cheapie Sony earbuds would work on my controller and they work great.

still wondering if sound would respond better to something matched to the controller's specs and whether or not the controller puts out enough power to drive some of the headphones that need an amp to sound good.
