I have had some grado sr80's - gave them up due to comfort issues (did enojoy the sound)

some hd650's - enojoyed them but sold due to money issues

now have hd580's - 600 grills, new cable - nice detail but I think something is lacking..

I use the can predominantly for watching movies form my amp with dolby headphone out.. so i need something with good bass reproduction (I like action movies) and a wide sound stage for the spacial effects.

I have never had a closed headphone so wondering how that would sound denon or audio technica seem to have a good line up.

Or maybe some grado rs-2 for a grado approach to things..

My listening position is 13 feet from my amp so i woul;d need an extension cable, I would probably make this myself from cardas and neutrick or mod the headphones and extend the cable

so I am looking for peoples suggestions... as I said I have some 580's so want to upgrade... budget would be say $400 usd for 2nd hand cans
