Hi. I've recently decided on buying my first set of great cans. I dont have too much to spend right now, so im looking for cans below $250. I mainly listen to hip hop and rock (mainly punk). EQ settings on my comp are V shaped with the bass highest. Right now I listen to music through my PX-100s and I love their sound. I want a good upgrade from my PX-100s or simply cans that are great for hip hop and rock with lots of punchy bass. Right now, I've been looking at the ATH-A900s and the SR-225s but Im not sure yet. Which one should i get? Or are there any other cans that would be great for me?

i love my 280pros's for hiphop.. some songs make my ear lobes vibrate with crisp bass (never bloated sounding) reminds me of my freinds truck with 2 1200 watt Massive subs and 2 amps(makes your eyes go blur with bass)

If you want BASS, the Beyerdynamic DT770 might be for you.

Yea the DT770 is very good for hip hop and smooth rock not so much so for fast rock though. A Grado is your best bet for fast rock
