The DX220 Max isn’t out yet but the M15 isn’t that “huge” I’d say. Just barely bigger than the m11/pro.

Also the max is advertised as transportable rather than portable.

I had sp2000 and m15 in hands, I think by memory sp2000 was slightly more compact but very close

I don’t have the SP2000 anymore so I can’t comment, I do know the SP2000 weights 100g more than the M15 so it does give the illusion of being “clunkier” to me by memory, maybe I’m letting that change my perception a bit of the size. Neither of them are small by any means though, I’ve been spoiled by the DX160.

to me m15 seemed to be taller then sp2000

All thought I found my wm1z more compacty and smaller but just very heavy lol. still to date its the heaviest dap in the world :)

Many thanks to the sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and fellow hi-fiers who made my first CanJam an enjoyable success.

Couple observations:
1) the lack of attitude was so refreshing. everyone just seemed so chill which was really nice for me as a newbie. i got that vibe from the forum, but it was nice to experience it firsthand.
2) up-close and hands-on. maybe this should have been obvious in hindsight since i constantly read the "trust your ears" refrain in the threads, but it was really cool to see everyone just going from table to table to plug in and have a listen and form their own opinions.
3) not enough time! i swung by on Saturday afternoon and--because my daughter was kind enough to turn over part of her college touring weekend to CanJam--wanted to keep my time short, but i could have totally lost myself just circling the hall for hours, marveling at all the kit.

Special shout out to AJ at the JH Audio table. He was kind enough to answer numerous inane questions, sat patiently while my daughter subjected me to a blind test of various JH IEMs, and went the extra mile to do my impressions (yes, my daughter has all the photographic evidence).

And...as of this morning, i've taken one more step over the slippery slope by ordering a pair of custom JH 13v2s.

Thanks to all the Head-Fiers for the advice thus far...will report back once i have gear in hand.

I heard iFi was selling a version of their Pro iCAN with a 4.4mm pentaconn jack. Can anyone tell me if this replaced the 2.5mm jack, and whether or not the 4.4mm version has better specs?

It needs to have a mic for that.

Correct, no mic, but wonder if you pair it up with TWS iems, what would happen. And Whatsapp needs a phone number, doesn't it? But I'm sure there could be other VoIP apps. Would be fun to experiment.

I'm kicking myself for not taking side by side pictures with something like N8. R8 is definitely thicker than sp2k and M15. Just guessing, but I also think R8 either very close in size to Sp2k or just a little bit bigger.

Did anyone have a go with the Cayin HA-6A?

Any indication what's inside of it? I'm stunned that HiBy has been able to keep the internals all but secret. They must be gearing up for a big reveal!

4.4mm is indeed the latest version, being offered alongside (not replacing) the 2.5mm. The newer 4.4mm balanced headphone output version is slightly more powerful with 4200mW @ 16ohms and has allegedly has "improved circuit design for better sonics and stability." https://bloomaudio.com/collections/...c-solid-state-tube-headphone-amp-and-streamer

Ouch that price. Nice that companies are adopting the less awkward 4.4 pentaconn. Wish it was only an amp to save cost.

How would that compare to an NFB-1AMP(2019 Edition).? Or NFB-11.28( ESS9028 PRO) small desktop dac/amp
