Any idea how it compares to the recently-released iFi Zen DAC? Price / sound differences? (with non-6xx headphones)Have to say this one was impressive with HD6XX. This is not launched yet but will come in drop. In case you are wondering it is fully balanced and has a switch with HD6XX DSP
I'm going back tomorrow again. I didn't listen to ZEN DAC today. Will try out tomorrow. I asked IFI about the difference and they told me that ZEN DAC also has inbuilt amp in it and this one has separate amp and DAC with balanced in and out and is more suitable for HD6XX series.Any idea how it compares to the recently-released iFi Zen DAC? Only one I saw was on display by MusicTeck. Unfortunately not much in the way of details. He said HiBy hasn’t revealed much. Only thing shared is what’s already publicly available. Snapdragon 625, Android 9, 4G SIM card support. It has dual 3.5mm and 4.4mm outputs, one pair for headphones and one pair for line out. It wasn’t connected to WiFi so I couldn’t stream anything and the loaded SD card only had a couple of dozen albums, mostly red book but some albums were lossy. It sounded nice from a quick listen. Can someone please get hold of a HiBy R8 dap and list the specs here. DAC, amps, power output, price, anything and everything...

UI was very sleek/fast (not much loaded on there). Volume knob appeared to be faulty. Sometimes you spin it and it adjusts fine, but other times it would spin for a while with no increase or decrease registering. I chalked that up to it being a prototype though. It’s big. Bigger and heavier than the FiiO M15, but felt good in hand and well built overall.
