Hello Head-Fi! We have a few CanJam updates from the Sennheiser camp.

We're excited to host some HE 1 listening sessions at CanJam Chicago. There are 2 ways to book a listening session:

1) Simply click the Calendly link here (recommended)
2) While at the Sennheiser booth, you can scan a QR code at our table to make a booking with the remaining time slots

A few notes:
  • Only one session per attendee please -- want as many people to enjoy the HE 1 while it is there
  • We will have a standby sheet at the booth in the rare event that someone no-shows and leaves a slot open
  • Need to change or cancel your time slot after booking? No problem...the reservation system takes care of that through email
  • We recommend adding your mobile phone number to reservations so that you'll get an automatic reminder ~10 minutes prior to your session

Booth giveaways? Yes indeed.

As noted earlier, our anniversary-edition showroom HD 800S needs a new home and we're giving that away at the end of day 2. At the end of each day we're also giving away some fun toys for the trip home (raffle style):

  • IE 200
  • SoundProtex hearing protection
  • SoundProtex Plus hearing protection

When you stop by the Sennheiser booth we'll show you how to enter to win, as well as earn additional raffle tickets to win these prizes.

We've also posted the above info in the event thread as well. We can't wait to see you all there 🎧

Let's say I have some test songs I want to hear. Which of the following formats would be simplist to source at the HE-1 demo?
  • CD (burnt MP3, FLAC, etc)
  • Smartphone: USB connection
  • Smartphone: BlueTooth
  • USB stick (MP3, FLAC, etc)

Hey hey! I'll be running many of the demonstrations. I suggest a USB stick, as we'll have a laptop on-hand. It's the most versatile option for higher res files. HE 1 does not have a Bluetooth receiver, so we would need to incorporate a BT-enabled DAC to make the connection, and at that point we've compressed the audio file enough that the HE 1 would reveal way more than what is enjoyable. We will not have a CD transport either. Great question! See you there!

Are you planning to bring the HE-1 to London as well?
Ideally, an HE 1 goes to all CanJams and Hi-Fi shows. Most of the time we can make it happen but it depends on if a unit is available and if we have the resources to show it appropriately (a quiet room, extra staff, logistics, etc).
