Kabeer, you are correct. Fang has two of those at the show.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I saw vpivinylspinner mentioned about Head Direct new Planar headphones in his impression post, which I reckon is the woody one.
I guess it is a good new for you Kabeer [img]http://www.head-fi.org/forums/images/smilies/popcorn.gif

The left one I think are Jade electrostatic headphones.

the confusion stems from audaze unveiling a new isodynamic at the show, and we didnt expect head direct to bring one as well

Thanks vpvinylspinner!

This is unexpectedly cool! Two new Isodynamic headphones at the same show after the technology was binned 25 years ago (since the big manufacturers didnt know how to make em sound good back then) hah! This is great news.

Going by Headphoneaddict's comments on the Head-Direct Planar's price, like Bjarne I wont be able to afford it. But pretty pictures are good enough

Anyone care to give a link so we can understand what Isodynamic is?

Isodynamic (aka orthodynamic - Wikiphonia)

Edit:
Fixed link, as for some reason the automatic shortcut creator (in the forum) messed it up.

Indeed, it's FallenAngel's. I had to do quite a double take when I saw it...

amb,
Your amps are gorgeous in scorche's pictures.
I didn't know that your build lineup was so extensive.

@Kabeer. How much $$ did Larry claim the Head-Direct ortho's were coming in, at?

$800

Those new planar magnetics that Head-Direct was showing off at CanJam are a winner. I think they are very expensive, maybe $800, but they sounded very nice. I need more time with them Sunday before going home, and the only impressions I can give is they are very clean, crisp, natural and transparent, and totally unlike a stock Yamaha or modded vintage ortho - they were better. They reminded me a bit of my Smegma Pros. They are also still harder to drive than dynamics, but the EF1 had enough power to deliver a warm full rich strong performance, while the EF2 struggled a bit and would not be my choice.
