I got myself a Grado 225 for 150 tax included yesterday. I tried using optical output from my computer to my 7.1 Pioneer  VSX 919ahk amp/receiver, it definintely sound better than outputting from my ipod and on-board sound card from computer.
 
I am wondering if using Headroom Total Bithead  will improve further with my current optical ouput to my home theatre amp setup, also is there any other amp I should look out for. My budget is around 150-200, also I listen mostly to metal/rock and pop songs if that matters. Thank you very much.

The Grado SR series aren't hard to drive. Their character is bright on bad material.
 
Do you want a portable solution or a home component?
 
I personally like tubes to add body to the Grados but the power supply needed for 32 ohms makes a tube option expensive. Any SS or hybrid plays them just fine. Your receiver should be good until you start getting in the mid fi offerings.
