40 pull-ups or chinups? thats a very impressive amount of pullups.

40 pushups isnt that difficult, or shouldnt be. But it is only one measure. To truly measure fitness, you need to test strength, endurance, flexibility, everything. So mile times, sprint times, bench, squat, pushups, pullups, chin ups, dips, v sit, basically everything. But the pushups is a pretty solid test you can do if you are near a floor.

recently ive been doing 100 a night. basically i break it up so i do something like 40 30 30 or 30 30 20 20 (for the not as fit). ive kept at it for about a week or so, and ive bested my pushup record (45) very easily. right now when i start off fresh, i do 50 average, then 30 20. happy training

thats pretty good, My buddy is deploying on Dec 1st and I think his last PT test he did 80ish

I on the other hand, 40 pushups check, 75 situps in 2 min, 7 min mile. I am not in the military, he just needed someone to work out with and he put me in shape. I however will refuse to do 2min worth of pushups, I'd rather die.

About a year ago I was very close to enlisting in the NAVY under the SEAL Challenge contract. I was able to ~100 pushups, ~100 situps, ~25 pullups back to back with 2 minute rest in between that after swimming 500M and then running 1.5 miles, it was fun. You needed to do these in a certain time/reps to qualify.

EDIT: so 40 is cake
