I have ASUS Xonar D2X
ASUSTeK Computer Inc.

It overpowers my Grado SR60 cans, easily. (I've had these phones for years.)

I also have Ultimate Ears super.fi 5 Pro, but cord is way too short to practically use. Yes, I could get an extension, but if the D2X blows away the Grados, I fear trying my UE's would be superfluous.

Sooo, could the D2X power Sennheiser HD 595 with no issue?

SR60 has 32 impedance and HD595 has 50 at 1kHz. I know little about this subject, so will the D2X/595 be a good match? How about HD650 (300 impedance)?

Primary use for the cans will be music (lossless, of course) and gaming.

Thanks for all insightful replies.

It should be able to drive the HD595 decently, but it is highly unlikely that a pc sound car will be able to drive 300ohms to any satisfactory resultst.

I got the Sennheiser PC 350 which have a imp of 150 Ohms and Xonar does just fine. Bass Boost CMOY offered no improvement.

Both my PSP and Zen drive my HD595 decently, so the Xonar should be fine. But my HD570 on the other hand ...

Drives mine fine.

When I am feeling in the mood for "loud", max output on the card is pretty much as loud as I'd want it on the headphones without it being uncomfortably loud.
