My Fiio E18 doesn't show up at all in the device manager or as a playback device.
Can USB 2.0 DACs not be used with Windows 10?

Check if the E18 is listed in Device Manager.

it's not in the device manager as an audio device or as a usb device.
It's not the cable or anything, it works fine in mac os.

You probably just need to install the Windows drivers. ...Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find them for your model.

there are no proprietary E18 drivers. You're supposed to use the generic USB audio drivers, except in Windows 10 this doesn't work

From glancing at the user manual, it would appear that you need to connect things a certain way or something like that. That's why I mentioned the manual, since it may be a possible factor.
Anyway, FiiO has good support and should be able to help you. They can be contacted at support@fiio.net. Some of them post here as well.
