I've recently found these lying around, and they work with my headphones. And they've reasonably expanded it's soundstage, but I dont really know if I should keep going with these, or buy an actual AMP+DAC combo.

Please describe what exactly you want us to talk about.  I cannot tell if you are asking about some piece of equipment not in the picture or just the Sony receiver.

By these, yes I was referring to the Sony Receiver. And the question was that could the Receive stand in for an amp/dac. Sorry if I did not make my question clear enough.
