Can the "imod" be done to the iPod mini?

Well, the iMod is done by Red Wine Audio, and I'm pretty sure that they only perform the procedure on 4 and 5 gen iPods.

Not sure about the same quality, but I "iModded" my 1st Gen Mini along with a dock that contained the output caps (Solen PIO 10uF).

Never seen the diyMod on the Mini in action, but that looks pretty simple!
Nice work on the dock, bmwpowere36m3!

How does it sound to you?

I have four mini, they are my favorite. I see a DIYmod in the near future.

Very nice bmwpowere36m3. I have 2 iPod Mini's that I'm thinking about diyMod.
Here's my questions:
-Do caps fit inside mini? If so what ones can I use?
-Would I be much better off putting the caps on the LOD cable? & if so what ones?
-Does the modded mini compare to a 5th gen modded iPod Video?

It sounds good, but I recently finished a ϒ1 so its no comparison and the convenance of running it off the computer

It was my first "DAC" since I had an old mini laying around with no purpose...

Nope, there's no room inside for caps unless there surface mount.

Gamma1, that's great, I have one on deck just gathering the last few bits for it. I use my iriver hp-120 digital out to external DACs so I am sure that there is no comparison really.
I want to mod one of my minis 'cause I am sure there will be an improvement and just the fact that I can and it's DIY! I bet it will sound pretty good with my mini 3. I'll have a nice mini-mini setup

bmwpowere36m3 does the headphone jack work or does it completely get bypassed with the mod? I've thought about modding my 5th gen video iPod too, will the headphone/video jack still work after modding that?

Nope, the headphone jack still works... this only modifies the LINE-OUT.
