Hello, I have everything ready except the cables

My setups is as follows:
iRiver H120 Optical Out ------> Optical In of the Lite DAC Ah --???--> Little Dot II ++ Amp ------> Headphones

NOTE: The optical-in here looks different, why?

So what should I get for the connection between the DAC and the Amp above? Stereo RCA Jacks at both ends? If yes, what do you recommend for a budget of $30?

Do you recommend any other cables that fit under my budget? I like good bass, warm clear details but not sterile, and good shield.

On the first pic there is a protective plug inserted (dunno what the correct term for that piece of plastic is) and on the other pic it's not there.

a pair of RCA interconnects is what you need. connect them from the DAC to the LD2++ inputs. also, the optical in the one pic just has the cover plug on it. it needs to be removed before use.

best cables for around $30. not sure.

Yes, 2 of those cables will work well in your setup

from my understanding mini opticals are a mac thing, but from the picture yea i think ur iriver uses it as well if you in the US check out

The iRiver iHP 120 line out works as an optical out as well, so does this make it an optical mini? I have never seen a one side mini and the other side regular optical plug, isn't there any other option than buying the Toslink mini adapter?!

yes here's the a link they have mini optical cables also, they have what you need, and there's also an optical to mini optical, i read somewhere that there is a source to destination thing about optical cables so you have to figure the direction you're plugging
