I have been using my AKG K340 Electrostatic-Dynamic hybrid headphones since November 1986 and love them....I am curious as to exactly how the "Electrostatic" part work? What moves to make that great Treble, and what makes that move and vibrate etc??

OH, and DIY electrostatics can be done. Just be careful of the voltages involved , although in a headphone it's unlikely that if things go wrong that you electrocute yourself. In this regard I wouldn't actually suggest you make any, go buy 'em
