Alright, so I'm interested in getting a pair of cans like this guy is wearing -

- (over the ear type stuff) but this site has me overwhelmed to the point of losing my mind, so I'm hoping if I lay out some parameters I can get some advice from some or all of you.

I'm looking to spend around $400 (maybe a little more if you can present a good argument to justify it), and the phones would be working with the Imod and a Hornet, mostly while I lie around the house.

I listen to literally everything (jazz, rock/indie/alternative/enter label here, hip-hop, metal, classical, etc.), so if there's any good cross-genre headphone you all would recommend, that would be great.

I think that's all. If anyone has anymore questions, please let me know! I've not really entered the over the ear headphone world before, so I apologize in advance for my naivete.

Sounds like you are talking about the Grado RS-1
I havent listen to a pair, so I cant comment, but I think my next purchase of "cans" will be the RS-1, also.
Have you listened to a pair yet?
