I have my first "serious" headphone amp on the way (DV 336e) to replace my total bithead. My question is: can I use the bithead as a preamp to take advantage of its DAC function? Or will the input voltage be too much for my amp to handle? Otherwise I will have to run the DV straight from my computer.

Yes, you absolutely can. Just be sure to turn the crossfeed off.
