Yes, I have read http://tangentsoft.net/audio/opamp-bias.html and it was most helpfull and it even mentions the J500's which is the only thing I can find resembling a CRD available in NZ (from RS components).

Yes, a J505 is a 1mA CRD. It can be used for opamp class A biasing.
