For a little more than a year i’ve been using a Loxjie D10 DAC, but it gave me headaches for the past week.
It all started when i tried to update its firmware to the newest version, hoping it would fix an annoying issue i had with it and apparently something went wrong in the process, even though the software claimed everything went right.
Basically, it came out of the firmware update like this:

And that’s not just with Windows, if i connect it on my phone with an OTG cable, it sounds exactly the same.
I reached Loxjie themselves and they provided me with a new software and updated firmware, but unfortunately the flash tool doesn’t detect the DAC on my system:

I kinda gave up on it at this point and started looking for a replacement i could get quickly.
Now, i was installing the software for the Meridian Explorer DAC that i was planning to buy and noticed it was very similar to the one on the Loxjie (a custom tailored XMOS mod), so i decided to try.
While it doesn’t detect detect the Loxjie properly, it manages to make it play at the correct pitch instead of the mess i showed on the video, albeit with added crackles and pops, kinda like really dirty vinyl.
With this in mind, is it possible to make this DAC work properly again?
Does anybody know a tool i could use to force flash the new firmware Loxjie sent in?

The video is no longer available, but I have the issue that the playback is slow or too fast, example: if I put 60bpm in a metronome 60 beats took 63 seconds or 57 seconds, is the DAC after the firmware update, I select the option of 44100Hz is too fast and is to slow for example in 96000hz (i already tried in another computer and the issue remains)
I already tried all the configurations in win 10 device options and the issue is still.
Have you found a way to downgrade the firmware?

Yep, the way you've described the issue is exactly the same way mine was behaving, despite no longer having the videos to prove it.
Basically i couldn't find a way to downgrade the firmware, i've talked to Loxjie themselves via e-mail, they provided all the software and tools, but unfortunately wasn't enough, i couldn't find a specialist to deal with it either, so i just sold it to a friend that was interested to see if he could fix it.
I ended up buying a Meridian Explorer as a replacement.

Hello @Overlords12 and @MordredFTC , sorry for the delay on my response, i've been occupied.
I uploaded the files Loxjie sent to me right here, in case of any doubt the files are clean, i encourage you to scan both .zip files in VirusTotal (in fact i did it myself) for peace of mind sake.
They provided me with a newer version of the firmware and a new Xmos software, unfortunately i wasn't able to flash it in the device due to the lack of a flash tool in the new version, and the old flash tool just doesn't find the device anymore:

Finally, I did RMA and bought a new one, Sanskrit 10th MIII. I spoke with the official store in aliexpress, because they don't reply my email. They provided me a firmware, but when I updated, the problem continues.

For your friend, you can use the flash version tool included in the bad firmware update. This tool recognised the device.
Thanks

Nice! I had the same problem, but with the firmware update files of the D20 from Loxie's website I could save my D10:). Although I'm not sure what consecuences that could carry because it's not the same device; also not sure if it's the same ESS chip.

I know its months later and despite being the OP i'm late to the party, recently i got the DAC back in my possession and tried installing the D10 firmware and got the same results, but as mentioned here, i installed the D20 firmware, and now it runs perfectly, i don't know why, but it does!

What do you think about D10 sound? I'm wondering D10 between Modi 3
It sounds very clean, nothing jumps out as wrong with it or anything, if you've heard the Topping D10, this sounds the same but with an extra headphone amp, if i had to complain it would be about the output power, some similarly sized and priced models (even moreso nowadays) can have a more powerful output.
Unfortunately i haven't listened to a Modi 3 yet, so i can't compare them.
