Car Audio Passive Crossovers
Car Audio Second Order Passive Crossovers, 12 dB per Octave

Those are links to two schematics of the filter wiring. You want the one labelled "Low Pass".

Experiment between the first order and second order, if you wish.

For the first diagram, try to find a coil with an inductance of about 12.7mHy. For the second order, try to find one at about 18mHy, and a capacitor of about 141micro farads. You can also use the calculators on that site if you feel the need to tweek.

Here is a picture of a coil: And they do come in various shapes and sizes.
