I managed to break off the part above the last black ring on the jack and I need a time machine. But since I can't find one of those right now I'll need some DIY. I was hoping it would be fine to just superglue the tip back on. Seems simple enough. Has anybody tried it with good results?

Sounds like you are going to need to replace the whole jack which is not all that difficult but requires soldering. Every part of the tip is connected(soldered) to a corresponding wire in the main cable so just gluing it back on will probably not work since it will likely not make a connection anymore.

As was said, cut the cable to remove the old jack, and solder a new one on (or get a local electronics shop/supplier/hobbyist to do this for you)

Yes, definitely superglue will work fine.you should not getting late if you want a better result.Spuerglue or Elfiglue etc work very well and I have got already benefit from it..
