There's been much discussion over increasing or adding flash drives to the larger ipods. I like the nano form factor (especially the form factor of the previous generation) but need 32 MB at least.

Is there anyone that can perform the mod?

I'm not sure if I'm totally right, but I believe the memory chips on the Nano are soldered onto the PCB so you can't exactly change it. Plus I have never heard of anyone doing it.

the new ipod nanos (and maybe itouchs) are manufactured in a way that opening them will mean severing a major component required for operations. in the case of the nano, the screen flex cable will have to be sacrificed.

apple don't bother repairing them, just give you a refurbished one or a brand new one.
