I first saw this thread and was thought "I know! Wagner!", then I saw you want romantic sounding classical music, not music from the romantic era. Oh well.  Anyway, have you thought about the Concerto de Aranjuez? It's pretty much exactly what it sounds like you're asking for

Well I mean classical in the broader sense, not the classical era in particular. Music from the Romantic era is fine. I already have that piece from an earlier recommendation, thx.
