E6 is just an amp, it would connect to your headphone jack from your laptop. Unless you have a high-ish end laptop your only dac option is USB. How "cheap" is cheap? Price range?

For $~50:
HIFIMEDIY Sabre USB
ELE-Dac
Fiio E7K

$100-150:
Modi
Odac
Aune
E17

I think the E17 is a great value for the price. You get a good smooth sounding dac and an amp with treble and bass boost options. You can also use it as an amp for console gaming by plugging into the optical output so you can game w/ headphones. Lots of features for a low price. :)
