Hello, I found used LCD-2 rev 1 for 675$ and was wondering what the differences are, and whether or not the rev 1's can become a different revision?

How does it work when they revise them, is it a whole new headphone with a different driver etc? Or are they just taking the original product, and tweaking something like the earpads or something?
 
If I was to get the rev 1, could they be converted to rev 2 or rev 3? 
 
 
I tried on rev 2 LCD-2 at a store and was blown away by the comfort, and the sound quality was a little bit darker than my HE-500's but the price was un-attainable to me, so I settled for he-500 instead.  While I love the crap out of these, I would enjoy having LCD-2 so much, and my 30 day money back guarantee from ebay still stands on my 500s.

Thank you I think I'm going to get the revision 2, I found revision 1's for a good price, but I see tons of complaints about the headband being uncomfortable.
 
I could replace it with a new one from their website that's been updated, but it'd make them the same price as LCD-2 revision 2's that I found used as well for a good price.
