Before try the Moonrover I had a bit of reservation about the abilities of single Planar IEMs but this 12mm Flagship Planar IEM has changed my perception.
MoonRover is not one of the best but is the best IEM. It has exceptional bass performance, superb mid range clarity and treble definition. If you like accuracy, precision and clarity this is the IEM to get and the bonus is wr get all the goodness without any sharpness of piercing across the spectrum. This is a nearly flawless IEM.
And unlike other Planar IEMs this, flagship Planar IEM is happy to work with the cheap $35 TC35M2!!
I am super impressed!!
Here is my video review:

I will request Campfire to ditch the 3.5mm termination for it's IEMs priced over $1000, Please!!!!

Get your hands on the LCDi4. Magic.

Get your hands on the LCDi4. Magic.
What about that messy mid range and lower treble?
It doesn't have magic across the spectrum and it's not magic if you need EQ. I will pick the Effect Audio Fusion 1 and Custom Art Fibae 5 if I feel like experiencing magic. You should try this.

Hey Jeff, I think it's easily worth the $800 blind-buy considering there's only 100 of them out there and resale is likely going to stay high. If you can return it still while using the voucher, it's a no-brainer. The Black Star doesn't have the soul of the Trifecta, but I personally prefer it over the Bonneville - ymmv.

It's been too long since I had the SH to say for sure, but since the shells look almost identical and I believe the driver types and counts are the same, I'm pretty sure they're nearly identical. Though Campfire said their new 10mm DD is in the Black Star. Now, the SH has a fancy box and fancy shells, etc. I'd take the plain Black Star with improved bass over the SH for $1,600 less, and I did.

Feel free to ask away - the Black Star is my daily driver right now since I prefer it over my Hifiman Anada Nano and my ZMF Verite haven't shown up still. I kept the Black Star over the DIVA and Bonneville (comfort issues) and my Supermoon was excellent, but had QC issues so I had to return it.
The best Campfire iem I've heard so far is the Andromeda 2020. How does Blackstar compare to it? I can't find any FR graphs.

Totally different tuning. I didnt like the andro 2020, sounds way too smooth and lacks micro details.
Blackstar has more bass body and bigger area of impact with better dynamics and control when needed. Mid range is more better with texture and resolution. Highs are mostly similar but Blackstar has better resolution at lower and mid treble region. Stage is where these two differ a lot. Andro was a more rounded IEM but BlackStar is a bit more taller with equally impressive sonics and transient effect.
If I put it simply, blackStar has better dynamics, texture and is more engaging than Andro 2020.

I own 3 different Solaris, SE, OG and 2020 and prefer them in that order.

I find the Solaris OG a bit boring really. I think I'll get rid of them and check out the black star.

To be honest, just get the Solaris Stellar Horizon, anything else is a marginal side-step of the exact same flavor. If you're going to go with the same flavor of tuning philosophy may as well just make the actual upgrade. Unfortunately, that's a chunk of change for that sound profile.

I too have an SE :) It's the best "OG" flavor for sure.

Just got mine today. Only starting to listen. Sounds L shaped compared to my daily driver IE 900. The highs are rolled off. If I boost 8K and 16K a few dB's its sounds more clear. There is a boost in the 4K area that is almost to sharp for my tastes. I had to lower that a few db.'s so MJ didn't sound harsh. The bass is good though, but campfire does that pretty well if you like your bass boosted. Need to listen some more. Not a fan of the cable pointing down though. I'm aware of gravity working its magic all the time.

Got mine today. USPS kinda lost track of them for a few days. Lovely, SMALL, IEMs. Reminds me of the Etymotics from back in the day. The foam eartips were very comfortable.

I listened to my iPhone, so far, using the USB C DAC/AMP. Sound is full, and smooth. The cables can be run straight down, or draped behind the ears. I also ordered a 3.5 cable to use listening to my laptop via the jack, and some different usb bar DAC/amps. I need to check if I have an mmcx 4.4 cable. I plan to play it some for burn in, then try some serious listening later in the weekend.

So far, excellent small IEMs for the price.
