I have a Cambridge Audio 640 cd player. It does not read the cd's. It spits the cd out about as soon as I put the cd in. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Or can ya'll recommend somebody who works on CA's?

Thanks
David

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I have a 540, and it won't read discs anymore either. It doesn't always spit the disc out, but that has happened a few times.

It has a worn tray loading belt. Common fault on the 640 and a good money maker for out of warranty repair shops. Some will charge you for a complete CD mechanism after replacing the belt.
You can remove the belt and roughing it up a bit with sand paper. Put it back with the very shiny side pointing outwards.
